Yesterday, we woke up to the devastating news that our beloved Hersh Goldberg-Polin was found dead in Gaza, after being kidnapped on October 7th. This artwork is dedicated to his memory, featuring symbols that reflect his legacy. The dove represents the freedom he sought, while the heart shows the deep love we have for him. His name, boldly placed at the center, will forever be remembered by generations. The yellow ribbon symbolizes hope and resilience, and the image of Hersh is surrounded by icons that celebrate his spirit and the fight for justice. Yesterday, I attended his ceremony where hundreds of people gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate his life and bid him farewell from this world. All the materials in this collage were found on the streets of Jerusalem, adding a deeper connection to the place he loved.”We Love You, Hersh. You will always be a hero to us. Fly High”.
